Assembling experience
I would qualify the Mode80 an easy build. I mean, once the motherboard and stabs are screwed in, there are only 2 screws left, as they are the ones that hold the top and bottom of the keyboard. Their online guide is always a comfort when you are overwhelmed or need some info on the steps to follow. I would qualify this build as a quick one too, even more so if you are going with the Hot swap version since you won’t have to solder. Materials are easy to work with and there are very few steps once the stabs and switches are prepped.

Overall feedback
The Mode80 was my first 80% board and I have been loving it. What I love the most about Mode keyboards is the fact that you can configurate the board according to your preferences. Between the 6 tops, 5 bottoms, 6 plate materials and other choices you can really mix and match to find the perfect fit. I went with a Navy top since i did not have a navy keyboard yet and it is one of my favorite colors out there. To match it, I chose the Gold bottom which was perfect. For the Plate I went with POM which was also a first for me and this has become one of my top 3 favorite plates and maybe all time favorite ! Haven’t tested all of my favorite switches on it yet to be sure. Overall, if you are looking to invest in a solid 80%/TKL build in which you can choose the parts according to your preferences then I totally recommend the Mode80 !
